Counselling
Supporting your healing — at your own pace, in your own way
A space for you
Life can feel overwhelming when you’re carrying too much — past pain, family expectations, self-doubt, or a sense of not belonging.
Counselling offers a space where you can talk freely and feel truly heard — without judgement or pressure.
My role as your counsellor is to help you explore your experiences safely, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to heal the emotional wounds that may be holding you back.
Common areas I work with
I support adults who are experiencing a wide range of emotional and relational challenges, including:

Anxiety and stress

Low self-esteem and self-criticism

Family or relationship difficulties

Trauma and childhood neglect or abuse

Loss and bereavement

Life transitions and cultural adjustment

Identity, belonging and cross-cultural issues
My approach
My practice offers a warm, inclusive and confidential space for exploration, reflection and personal growth. I provide trauma-aware, relational counselling tailored to your needs and at a pace that feels safe for you. Whether you are seeking support with emotional wellbeing, relationship patterns, workplace stress, or life transitions, my focus is to help you feel heard, valued and supported.

A significant part of my work involves supporting clients who have experienced abuse, including childhood sexual abuse. I offer a sensitive, trauma-aware space where painful experiences can be explored safely and at your own pace. My integrative approach allows me to draw on a range of therapeutic modalities to meet your individual needs. This offers flexibility to explore both past experiences and present-day challenges, combining empathy and reflection with practical strategies that support coping and meaningful change. Below is an example of what is like working with me from a client's perspective:

"Yan's warmth and humanity provides a safe and accepting environment in which I feel able to open up and expose the maelstrom of emotions that I had buried and her rigorous analytical approach puts those feelings into context and perspective. At the heart of our relationship is an honesty that she enables. Our sessions always leave me feeling lighter: from having shared my experiences; from feeling heard and acknowledged, from being understood or, when things have been complex, from knowing that she is working with me to untangle everything. She gives me confidence in the future."

Drawing on my background in both counselling and coaching, I work collaboratively to help you build understanding, develop coping strategies and move towards meaningful and sustainable change. My aim is to support you in strengthening resilience, improving relationships, and creating greater clarity and balance in your life and work.

Below is an example of a range of modalities I integrate into my practice:
Psychodynamic ideas

Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you — helping you to make sense of your experiences, strengthen your sense of self, and move towards emotional balance and wellbeing.
